36' PEARSON 365 SLOOP 1976
Sweet cruiser/live aboard! Pearsons are well-respected and sought after sailboats in the cruising community. The 365 was designed by Bill Shaw and is said to be his favorite of the cruisers he designed for Pearson. According to Tom Hazelhurst, “Under Bill’s tutelage, they built damn good boats. I’m not saying that because I was their advertising man, but because I bought two of their boats. The boats just don’t break.”

This 36 footer is a fun and capable comfy ride outfitted for shorthanded and bluewater sailing that hits the sweet spot of easy to handle for 1 or 2 sailors (or newer sailors) and plenty of room for friends to come over for sundowners! Lots of storage means it's great for long periods of cruising, anchoring out and living aboard.

Things you should know -
As you know, all boats in this price range could use work of one sort or another. Everyone has different priorities, here are the bigger ticket jobs we had planned to get to in the near future but will not be doing before she sells - hence the low price - so you get to choose which projects you want to invest in and when.
- According to mechanic in Molokai engine needs new head gasket. He estimates about $500 in parts and head service if you do it yourself or around $2000 if you have a mechanic do it. (Update 11/2 - A mechanic in Oahu quoted a similar price range.) Coolant leak that caused the need for this has been repaired.
- Last haul was in 2013 multiple coats of Micron 66 over hard paint has done well but you'll want to paint. Bottom cleaned, zincs and max prop checked monthly - changed and greased as necessary.
Less money, more elbow grease or time type -
- Paint peeled on 3 of the ports allowing seepage behind the paint so by-passing the seals. Seals removed, paint scraped back to solidly adhered areas, sanded and seals replaced on those three ports when preparing for crossing a few months ago. More seal material comes with boat if you want to do more.

Bottom line - can you find a shinier boat somewhere? Sure.
Will it have all the cruising gear at this low price? Probably not.
